Hello. I've setup my laptop to run GIMP the same way as my desktop. This frees up my desktop for other uses. Here are several paintings I've done recently in GIMP (running Linux Mint). Focus has been on Python lately. Trademe line drawing. Reference was trademe logo Color trademe painting - my own colors
Here's thress pencil sketches that I've done recently. This is the view from outside my home. I was racing around on my Fathers hand wheel chair and decided to draw the view. A fold up chair would be handy as I'm always having to draw scenes that involve a seat! I have been using a 2h pencil. It's a wonderful pencil and I could not go back to HB. No smudging, and takes awhile to blunt - shading still works alright with it. This was drawn well walking down the road - starting sketching ideas for Ludum Dare - but ended up writing down ideas for a podcast I'd like to start with my friend Matt. I don't know if it will go ahead because Matt is very unreliable - I might be better to just organize something myself. Sitting outside the library. Again - another Ludum Dare logo, this time I sketched the lamppost and large pillar - adding in clouds, figure and tree.
I've got a better setup in my room now for working on the computer. My energy has been low for a long time, this is why I haven't been updating the site. I've been focusing mostly on making games. I never got a replacement Tablet for the Wacom Intous 5. Instead, I've kept with the small one. It's alright, and does the trick but doesn't allow me to paint all day as a get a sore hand. Here's a zombie painting I did from RedditGetsDrawn. I would post the reference but I checked back on the listing and it seems it's been deleted! Must always save the reference images. Anyway, here you go: Zombies are fun to draw. This one had somewhat of an Asian look. I rearranged the scene somewhat - sending the guy on the left towards the back and bringing the zombie forward. Moon/landscape in distance/water, and a fence to separate the zombie and guy. Tone. Merged the guy into the background somewhat. Pushed forward the guy out of the background with using the skin tones (yellow and red), these are the same as the skin tones I used on the zombie. For the water I used green, and landscape/sky blue. You can see all the tones of colors/gray-scale I used on the left. I have a few pencil drawings that I need to either photograph with my phone and upload or buy a new SD card for camera. I hope you enjoyed that digital painting and I'll be sure to upload more in future - it's important I keep slugging away with these digital painting :D
It's school holidays and I want to get my sleeping back on track so I've been hanging out in the youth center in the Library here in Levin. Using my cellphone as reference I drew several portraits from RedditGetsDrawn. I've also found my tablet pen so need to get back into digital painting. It's nice to put pencil to paper though. Today I'm planning on heading down to the local art center here in Levin. I need to hangout more with like minded individials - people that will answer more than 'yes' and 'thats great' when I discuss artwork with them. There was the chance of me going to Wellington today, but I think I'd rather head to the art center. Here's the results:
Hi. I've been busy with unity3d but get in a pencil drawing now and then. I think I've lost my pen for my tablet. Its likely somewhere in my room. Looking on mightyape I see they have baboon tablets for 100 dollars - might be worth picking one up. Anyway. Here's a pencil drawing I did recently: The reference for this was a portrait photo on redditgetsdrawn. Here tone has been added. No color sorry
I had a request today to upload some art. I have a new sketchbook that I have started to fill. Always buying new sketchbooks. So many half finished. Here's a pencil sketch from Cuba Street, Wellington. H pencil. I had drawn this scene before. I remember because of the hook icon on the building. Cuba Street is one of my favorite spots to draw in Wellington. I'm able to sit, focus and produce some great drawings. These last few months my drawing has been minimal. Around Levin I don't draw like I use to. Whenever I visit Wellington - my drawing sparks. I still feel sick and cold though.
Heres an update of some pencil concept art drawings I did. On Thursday I decided to go to palmerson north. I normally dont get out often so its great for me to get away. Sadly my sleeping patterns have been crazy weird (staying awake 40 plus hours - sleeping during the. I'm somewhat happy at the moment which is the main thing. Anyway. Eniugh of the ranting about my life and lets get into some artwork. There is a game jam happening this week known as the mid summer jam. The theme is growth with an extra theme being secrets. Majority of game jams use words for their prompts - id like to see a visual game jam where they gave you an image (or several) and get your insprition through that. Id always wanted to create my own game jam - maybe I should create a concept art jam where the prompts are paintings/art assets. I know a few artists so could be cool if we each submit a piece for the start of the jam. Might write and sketchdown a few ideas... This was drawn from my imagination and characters referenced from a character Catherine had created. I used this character in my recent Unity project si decided to sketch down further ideas. I'm going to ask catherine if she's interested in producing digital paintings of this by painting over... maybe using the same colors as the other works to keep the harmoney and flow with characters. I need to produce some 3d works from her paintings. The computers are setup great for modeling. Might aim for something tomorrow. I don't like to sleep but I have a feeling after this Rugby game I'm going to be very tired Another drawing produced well eating lunch. I believe a had a burger because burgers are delicious. The background enviorment is crea
