Welcome to Feb 2019! Here is a bunch of digital drawings that I have completed since LCA2019. Most of this was done when I was at my Mothers place. I have not really done much drawing since I have been back in Sydney.
Drawing the character on the shirt of the character. Character is in water. Basic shapes in distance and few clouds in the sky.
An eye looking to the right with bad looking teeth. Neck joins down somewhat with a circle body. Waves at the bottom.
Lots of portrait studies at the bottom. A few stars in the sky.
Two full character studies.
A angry looking portrait. Four tentacles as arms. Wave sea at the bottom, clouds in the sky and hills with rectangle marks on the horizon.
A character with one leg on the right. A combo of circles and waves for the ground and cricles for the sky.
spikycirclesky.
kiwipycon ideas. I will likely make the print schedule, and the slide decks.
sad faced character.
The letter A to the left. Build out a creature from that.
A figure drawing on the left. Waves for the ground. Clouds in the sky and hill bumps.
Character in the top left, almost in line with the horozin line. Wave in the bottom. Rectangle building shapes in the sky.
I found some photos of family from years ago - including one of me on my bike. I would of been around 13-14 years old so I decided to draw it. The dreadlocks were very cool.
sunflowermonster
A globe on the right. This was drawn well watching the new netflix show Carman Sandiago.

First update since my trip to New Zealand. I stayed at a airbnb in Christchurch for the hackfest lca2019 where I got some art done before having to packup my stuff in order to make room for AV room setup. Once the conference started I started at the student accommodation. I spent the majority of this time doing the post production video editing. In the evenings I took the drawing setup to the common room where I mostly just drew myself, but had a few others also have a go.
A sharklike creature to the right. This was a smaller image size than normal. Lots of circles with a X through the center.
LCA2019 logo with arrows around it. Slug like shapes with circles growths.
Someone drew this at LCA2019. Full troll figure and a troll portrait. A house on a hill and a emo kid holding something.
Circles within circles linked by rectangles.
Circles in the sky. Water ripples in the lower half. Building emerging from the horizon.
Portrait of someone from RedditGetsDrawn. Landscape in the background. Water ripples in the lower quarter and spiky mountains in the sky. Square shapes scatter the sky.
Portrait of a girl from RedditGetsDrawn. I like the braids. A strong figure. Minimal background.
Lots of figures and portraits. Along with circles.
The horizon line is very low. Building structures emerge from this. Lots of circles in the sky, with circles inside the circles.
A portrait of a girl from RedditGetsDrawn. She had a birthmark on her face. In the background a mall scene - windows, shops and people.
Yanikeke portrait from RedditGetsDrawn. Wearing glasses and standing in front of the American flag.

ok I lied. Here is another update before my flight out. I’ve rewritten my blog cms and it really is much easier for me to update now. It could be better. And it’s something I will always continue to work on and improve.
I took Carries penguin she drew and remixed it. Many times. This is the results. There is a penguin in every drawing.
Another lie. No penguin in this one. There is a character portrait on te left. A landscape border behind, with a questionmark shape emerging for the horozen line. More of the question mark shapes in the background.. as clouds. I started watching Batman Forever so I think I was influenced by that. The Riddler is one of my favorite characters.
Depending on the power up picked up, the penguin changes appearance. The changes on his head reflect the sign he is holding. There are six penguins in this piece. Each of them holding a different sign/headpiece. Which is your favorite? I think I like the flower/circle bottom center.
Penguin Hold Sign written on top right. Very loose and rough drawings of the penguin. Lots of experiments with scale - making one side of face large and other small. Spikes coming out of the head on some of the penguins.
Mostly just a landscape but a penguin on the left. He is missing the circle on his stomach. A worm like create to his right with spikes along the body. Normal clouds in the sky and ripples of water below.
Three penguins and a attempt of drawing a sideways one.

I hope you have had a good start to the New Year. I’m on a roll with a second post for the new year - and publish of artwork created in 2019. This is a mixture of software ideas (bubble tea order system, language learning quiz system) and the usual landscapes.
There isn’t much in terms of ordering bubble tea through digital means so I thought I would work on a system for it. These are sketch ideas for it.
circlefigure landscape
crazyeyes. One looking down and one looking up. I have new glasses so won’t be getting as much headaches and issues seeing now.
language learning quiz. I’ve been using quite a few apps and some have great ideas, some not so good. I’d like to take some of those good ideas and build an app to help people learn new languages.
RedditGetsDrawn - liamfuture. I made a request to get unbanned from RedditGetsDrawn and it’s been accepted. Nice.
Pepper and Carrot drawing. But this time it is just Carrot who is looking very angry.
Portable Pi Workstation. One idea would be to package my setup and encourage others to buy the setup - skim a fee off the top.
skyciclerotate
squareheadlandscape.

Happy New Year! It’s 2019. To celebrate the new year I have moved the blog to a new server (it is still DigitalOcean). I have also upgraded the version of Nikola to v8 and fixed all the old blog wordpress posts that were still directing images to artcontrol.me rather than the local directory. I was experiencing lots of lag on the old server so hopefully this new one is better. I still would like to look at moving the site to aws s3 or google cloud in the future.
Here some art from the end of 2018:
A random couple on RGD. I didn’t write down their name and can’t find it now. Oh well.
A character with a landscape. The character has an interesting shaped head.
Another work that I drew from RGD.
A landscape
A drawing of mesanthrope from RGD. I liked her circle glasses and the turn of the head.
A drawing of socooooooooool from RGD. I liked how her hands are folded and the peacefulness of the scene.
A drawing of SquareCircleHills. It’s a landscape.
A drawing of YiyiChu from RGD.

It’s been a busy October! I started Inktober but quickly gave up. I had three Hackathons on this month - Unearthed (which some art is included), NASA Space App Challange, and DigiSparkHackathon (Identity consent). I also took my Pi along to the Ruby meetup so there are a few drawings from that.
LumaSign and China stuff.
I have a English football song playlist on Spotify that I enjoy. This was inspired by that playlist.
Inktober Poisonous prompt. A bottle of poison, acid rain, and poison plants.
Inktober enter prompt with bonus Chinese symbol.
Exit signs brainstorms. Enter vs Exit.
Roastedmeat. Inktober Prompt.
Drawn during the ruby on rails meetup in Sydney.

This was created at the aws meetup in Sydney. It was the 2nd time I had attended the meetup and likely the last. The meetup doesn’t really interest me and I find the talks to be too dry and sponsored. The people are ok. I might attend the aws summit in April.
Digital drawing of Calista and her dog Willow. I would like to draw both of them more. The reference image didn’t show much - only half her face. Still it was fun to draw her and she liked the result.
Drawing of Carla.
Drawn when attending the golang Sydney meetup. It was a bit of a different meetup to my usual meetups. They had a talk on documentation then some library developers talk about their projects and then we were encouraged to work on their docs.
something random
Attended the laravel meetup. I mostly attended because they were talking ecommerce. I don’t get along to many backend dev meetups so this was enjoyable.
opto.
progressive web apps meetup.
spike
Attended Sydney Designers meetup. I even got someone drawing!
Remix and redraw of Karis artwork that she sent me. I love to collaborate with others on art.

jeans now 2 for $50. drawn in Palmerston north side a mall.
Jessica had a great time on my drawing tablet. Jessica was here. A cat to the right.
Jessica here again. A sunshine in the top right. I sometimes draw sunshine. It’s usually multi ones though. Another drawing of the cat and penguin. My fav animal.
This was created at a IOT hardware hackathon in Sydney. A girl (who I never got her name) spent quite a bit of time drawing - a kiwi, unicorn, portrait, and figure with a hat. I love getting others to draw, so i don’t have to!
Drawn at Mikeys. Some random girl from redditgetsdrawn.
More from Jessica

zarah was the 2nd speaker at the Sydney android meetup. i had no idea what she was speaking about but i took notes anyway.
the first speaker at Sydney android meetup spoke about security. a topic that is close to my heart. i very much enjoyed this talk.

I went to a digital art gallery opening on Friday night. I came prepared with my digital drawing setup. I had lots of interest in it with plenty of artists (and non artists!) giving it a go. There was others there using Wacom products - though they were on a much bigger scale and not open source.
Cat drawing. This was drawn after the gallery event outside a bar that wouldn’t let me in. The girl that drew it was great. Randoms on the street, creating art.
Rose flower during the gallery opening. Certainly one of the more talented drawings of the evening.
The hello world of digital drawing on my setup.
lines and a heart
Portraits. Some of them may be of me - I was holding the pi/screen and artist holding wacom/pen and drawing. I would like to think they are portraits of me. Few wine glasses, which is appropriate since so much wine was consumed.
robots at the gallery. One of the only pieces of the night that I created.
so cute. these two girls had a dlr camera so I started talking to them about photography. They ended up drawing this. I like the four legged animal they drew - is it a horse or dog?
This was created by two children. Anyone can use my setup. It’s impossible to make a mistake.
